March News & Updates

Spring is in the air! Unfortunately, allergies and inflammation could soon cause significant discomfort for your patients. If you could send them out into the world with a formidable shield along every mucosal surface to help reduce or prevent allergic responses, would you?

The potent shield naturally secreted onto the mucosae is the specialized antibody known as secretory IgA (sIgA). Secretory IgA binds to and blocks antigens – pollen, influenza, coronaviruses, dust, pet dander, and more – from causing inflammation. Secretory IgA is the best ally when seasonal allergies bloom, and you can test sIgA levels in all patients to confirm or boost their protection!

Read more about sIgA in our article – Secretory IgA (sIgA) – The Power of Immune Exclusion for Seasonal Allergies – today!

Top Test Panel Spotlight

The DiagnosTechs Food Panel (FP) measures food-specific sIgA antibody levels to some of the most common food allergens – gluten, milk, egg, and soy. The FP also measures the total salivary sIgA level. The FP includes:

  • Milk (casein) antibody, sIgA

  • Soy (protein) antibody, sIgA

  • Egg (ovalbumin) antibody, sIgA

  • Gluten (gliadin) antibody, sIgA

  • Total salivary sIgA

The Food Panel is indicated for patients experiencing:

Gastrointestinal Symptoms of Food Sensitivities:

  • Diarrhea or soft stools

  • Constipation

  • Gas and bloating

  • Indigestion or GERD

  • Mouth ulcers

Non-Gastrointestinal Symptoms of Food Sensitivities:

  • Skin: Dermatitis (rash), eczema, edema (swelling)

  • Joints: Swelling, pain, and inflammation

  • Respiratory: Runny nose, asthma, nasal congestion, inflamed sinuses

  • Brain: Headache, migraine, sleeplessness, irritability, anxiety, depression

  • Nerves: Nerve tingling, numbness
